Integration
To ensure that all decisions are taken
in the context of the Government's integrated transport policy.
More specifically, this means:
- integration within and between different types
of transport, so that each contributes its full potential and
people can move easily between them;
- integration with the environment, so that the transport
choices available support a better environment;
- integration with land-use planning, at national,
regional and local level, so that transport and planning work
together to support more sustainable travel choices and reduce
the need for travel; and
- integration with policies for education, health
and wealth creation, so that transport helps make a fairer, more
inclusive society.
The Integration Objective has 3 sub-objectives:
- to improve transport interchange
- to integrate transport policy with land-use policy
- to integrate transport policy with other Government policies
